Sanctuary

the elegant bends
of a treble clef
my sanctuary

lost in a verse
of a song
lingering in
my mind

the words escape me
but the melody
it still haunts me

one last note
one last beat
to carry me home..

It’s become something of a Star Wars weekend on Nerdology, so why not just embrace it?

Whoops…how rude of me.

A lot of you don’t  know me. I don’t like that very much. I’m going to give a little introduction for those of you that would care to read it. I’m 24 until October 2nd. I was brought up in the lovely city of Henderson, North Carolina. I’ve been in the US Marine Corps since April 07 and am stationed aboard the significantly less lovely Camp Lejeune. I’ve got a habit of vomitting words so you’ll probably be witness to a few random posts, scrawled poetry or freestyle rhyme…depending on my mood really. I also have a growing fondness of synthesized music so once I get Fruity Loops mastered there may be audio added to the mix. All in good time though.

The rest of it is a matter of personality and those that take the time to write lengthy descriptions of their personality are the ones who either a) have not figured out who or what they want to be and are looking for justification; or b) know who they are but aren’t confident in their ability to express it without words. I technically belong to column a myself but it would be improper of me to admit a deficiency then carry on with it anyway.

Well…this is life at 6:32PM EST.

I’m in the barracks enjoying a relaxing Saturday. Got a field op coming up Monday through Thursday… maybe Friday afternoon. Who knows. Depends on how the training evolutions go. But the bags are packed, the Jenks is relaxed and all is well. Got a few things on my mind. Lingering, haunting things. But they’ll pass for me like they did for her. Yeah, I’m on the upswing right now. It’ll stay that way too.

This is only my second post and you may not see very many until I get into the swing of it but yeah, the theme will probably change and grow as I update more frequently. Not used to HTML versus CSS codes so it’s a little learning experience. The learning experiences are what defines our life anyway.

“There was a woman, first time I’d found someone who was truly alive. At least, that’s what I thought. She was… the part of me I’d lost somewhere along the way, the part that was missing, that I’d been longing for.”
